Outtakes II: A Walk in the Woods
Dig this creepy boardwalk through the woods behind Sandhills Community
College.I was hoping to incorporate these shots into a multi-media
presentation, but they have turned into yet another series of outtakes.

Enjoy!

M A C R O II: R E T U R N O F T H E S H E L L
Here we have more macro. The shell's highly reflective surface proved to be
more of an obstacle than I thought. Seems that the less diffused the light, the
more minimal my super-hot speculars were.

These were my best shots.

PhotoShop Before and After
Here is a headshot of Mike. I am posting this to show the composition as
it was originally shot and the final cropped, photoshopped headshot.

Oh, what a difference! Thanks in advance for any feedback.

These are some early attempts at some "bio-related"
macro work I've done for my class this semester.

D o n 't S m o k e C r a c k

Here is a photo illustration that
incorporates 3 separate images:
An x-ray of a skull,
a
puff of smoke from a smoke machine,
and a silhouette of Hamilton pretending to puff.

Portraits with Props
I was trying some (perhaps goofy) ideas using props in portraits. Here are a couple of examples featuring Gretchen and Tony.

Photo Illustrations
Here are some ideas I worked on for my lighting class earlier this fall.
I like the ideas but I think they need some tweaking.

This shot was inspired by the movie, '2001: A Space Odyssey'.
Instead of a monolith floating through space, I used my cell phone.

Here is an shot where I tried to ilustrate chocolate chips as mountains.
I think this is where Count Chocula lives.

P a n o r a m a P r o j e c t
Here is my final panorama. This is the result of over 30 separate images as there are 30 different 'versions' of Hudson playing on
the grounds @ the Weymouth House in Southern Pines.

Here is my first attempt at stitching together different images into a single panoramic shot

Light and Expression
I took this pic when Hud and I were both home sick. It rained for most of this day, naturally emphasizing our condition. When the sun came out in the late afternoon, we ventured out to our porch for some fresh air.......

This is a shot of hockey player, Tony Cross, who agreed to pose for a sports portrait that I am trying to work into my portfolio. I decided to give it a comic book character quality (below) using photoshop.
Dig it!

Photo Journalism Project Outtakes

Here are some things I did and liked but didn't use while working on projects for my photo-journalism class.

Coffee at Brats
Here is a detail shot I set up at Brats restaurant for my weekly layout assignment. I was really feeling this photo but ultimately I decided it looked too much like a detail in the vertical shot I used in my layout. I scrapped it for a weaker shot.

Farmer's Market Pig
This is an overall shot I was hoping I could use for another weekly layout assignment. I got to the market pretty early and there weren't too many customers while I was there. I like this shot but with no 'living' subject, it doesn't really tell any story.
F o o t B a l l

This is the only decent football shot I was able to get this past Wednesday at the Randolph County Middle School Playoffs. These are the South Asheboro Blue Comets facing off against the Randleman Tigers in Lee Jones Stadium at Asheboro High School. Not much action and it is cliche; but there is some tension, and it's sort of cool.

All at once, the blast ripped through the house
washing everything
in a cacophony of energy and ob
livion;
Time and Space melt, moments become lifetimes,
as all of life's mysteries are answered in an instant,
lulling to rest any sense of hope.
